50 Teachings of Christ: #5 Let Your Light Shine

Let Your Light Shine: Matthew 5: 16
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven

Takeaway: ( Always read scripture in context: read above and below to get full picture)

We must not lose are saltiness, our zest for Yahshua’s word. Stay creative in the different ways you learn, study and serve so you do not get lukewarm. We are light in a world of much darkness. The Light, the word, the love should not be hidden. Boldly share your faith, bring hope, light, truth into every situation. When people feel your heart, your love, your compassion, what they are really seeing in you is Yahshua. When you bring peace, reason, wisdom to a situation, you are letting your light shine. The world must not get mixed messages, they must clearly see who we belong to in every action and word. Let there be no hypocritical doublemindedness in you. Be an authentic example, let the Son in you glorify the Father. When you shine as a child of light, you glorify the Father and bring honor to your heavenly Father.

Action Items:

  1. Are you timid in sharing your faith, belief? Do you offer to pray for those struggling live- on the spot? Or do you have a streak of uncomfortableness or awkwardness come over you? If so, write down what might be holding you back. Could the enemy be holding you back, putting a damper to your boldness? What steps will you take to overcome any timid or cowardly behaviors or declarations of faith? Do you care more what world might think? Losing a job? Looking like a “bible thumping freak” – “Holy Roller” “Holier than though? ”
  2. Each of us has our own talents, what talents can you use to let your light shine among men.
  3. What new creative ways can you do to enhance or keep your saltiness: your zest for learning, worshiping, serving? Research some new bible groups, volunteering opportunities. Maybe there is an elderly person who needs your company, a shut in to visit, a widow to help or someone in the hospital or prison to visit. Push yourself to get outside your comfort zone. Try new things. ( Video sermons, books, bible study, volunteering, try new ministry groups)

I have a passion and compassion for people, and I love YHWH ( God) with all my heart and soul. It is my higher calling to share the teachings and love of Jesus (Yahshua) through: writing, praying, teaching and public speaking. In the Mighty name of our Messiah, through the Holy Spirits help, I passionately help set captives free from strongholds. Together with His Power, we destroy the enemy and his schemes. This frees you to live a purposeful, joyful and fulfilling life for Christ.
