Finding Nileen.
On Sunday morning, I got a pressing on my heart. It was as if the Holy Spirit was saying, ” Take your holy oil and go find Nileen.”
Nileen was a lady that I met through a friend. She had suffered what I call a stress stroke after her daughter passed away. The stroke caused paralysis on one side of her body making moving her right arm and leg difficult. Over a month ago, after a bible study group, the three of us had a nice prayer session in a local coffee shop. When I met her she mentioned to me that she went to a certain church in Leander, one that I had attended once before.
For some reason, a few Sunday’s a go in the morning, there was a pressing on my heart, like a wind, I felt urgency to go and take the Holy Oil and anoint Nileen. This is special oil, which came from a bible in Dalton, Georgia that has been leaking oil supernaturally for the last few years. ( It has been tested by scientists and sceptics. It’s been scientifically proven not to be artificial, and there is not an oil on earth like it).
Brax was sleeping on the sofa, so I nudged her to see if she wanted to go to church with me. I love that my baby girl is always ready to go with me. She’s always willing to co-partner as a prayer team or go on any spontaneous adventure. The boys were sleeping, my husband and son, so I did not wake them up. Plus, I kind of felt like this was a mission for the girls. I sensed that this would be a more intense prayer session. It’s easier to “surrender” or “unravel” when your family isn’t waiting or watching.
The entire way to church, I prayed out loud in the car, not just for Nileen but for a series of people, largely who are battling health issues or spiritual attacks. I felt like I was equipping, getting supernatural backing, anticipating some event. I could feel His presence in the car and stirring within me, like I was on some heavenly quest.
When I entered the church atrium, a nice and attractive lady approached me, later I found out she was the Pastor’s wife. I told her I largely came to find Nileen. Then, I told her about the Holy Oil that is leaking oil from the bible. She said she didn’t see Nileen , but that I could look around. Honestly, I had only met Nileen once and couldn’t exactly remember her face. I scanned the congregation and nobody looked familiar.
When service was over, I was determined that this divine appointment would not go to waste, someone needed this Holy Oil. I found the Pastor’s wife, showed her the oil. Then, I asked her if anyone needed an anointing. She said that a man in a wheel chair was at the alter getting prayers now. He had excruciating pain in both his legs.
So I said, ” Well, this is not about me, asking her if she would go with me to join me in prayers. I told her that the oil represents what is impossible for man is possible for God.” We went back inside the almost empty church and approached the alter where the man in the wheel chair was receiving prayers.
I got on my knees below the man in the wheel chair. I introduced myself, briefly explaining I felt led to anoint him with the special bible oil. Right then, I noticed a nice woman on the stage who had come to minister the poor hurting man. I said, ” You look familiar. Trying to place her in my memory bank. ”
She said, ” Coffee Shop.”
I said, ” Nileen, Oh My Gosh Nileen. I came to church today to find you. I thought you weren’t here. I was going to text Lora to see if you were coming today but decided if it was a Divine Appointment, God would make it happen. This is crazy, I was looking for you, I had given up. I even asked the Pastor’s wife. I had given up and decided to find someone else to anoint when I found you. ”
I redirected my energy to the man in the wheel chair. I anointed Brinson’s legs and his head, in tears I prayed for this hurting man. There is this deep empathy for those hurting that has come over me lately. I almost feel like when my eyes and heart change when I begin to pray or see someone in pain, something deep within me taps seems to tap into the empathy of Jesus. I can only imagine how he hurts when we hurt, what he must of felt as the crowds lined up for prayer: those hurting, sick or demon possessed.
It was quite emotional praying for this man, who had been hurting since he was 5 years old. After Brinson left, I turned my attention to Nileen still in amazement on how God coordinated this divine appointment.
Nileen and I stared at each other in amazement, knowing God has set this up. She said three days before she pulled over in her car, and had a break down on the side of the road, crying out to God for her healing. She felt that this prayer appointment was confirmation from God that he’s there an dhe cares.
As she finished her story, an older gentleman chimed in, I thought he was an elder in the church, offering words of encouragement to all of us. He started speaking biblicial truth in a powerful way. I took the holy oil and said to the Elder, ” I feel like you have authority today. I want you to anoint Nileen. ”
He said he didn’t really even feel like he should be part of the prayer, even backing up in a child-like manner. ” I said, yes I feel confident that you have authority , and you need to anoint her.”
He started to anoint her and prayed for her. As he prayed, still on my knees below Nileen, I unraveled at how wonderful God was to arrange this meeting. I ran my hands up her leg and touching her arm that was effected by the stroke. In my heavenly language, my soul cried out to Abba Daddy God in appreciation, amazement and supplication. I could not hold back the emotions, the tears ran down my cheeks as I poured out my heart for Nileen.
I seemed to have a supernatural empathy, loving her through prayer. Her body shook as we prayed, as if the Holy Spirit was touching every cell or expelling some oppression. When the session was over, her dizziness and some weakness was gone. She said she felt so much better.
I’m still believing God’s word and not the symptom, “By His Stripes ( Nileen) is already healed. ” I will continue to believe that she will get her full restoration. Hebrews 11: 1 says: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. ”
Then, the crazy thing happened, the man I thought was an Elder, the one I said had authority of her, turned out to be her husband. I had no idea when I told him he had authority that he was Nileen’s husband! That was so cool too because all husbands have supernatural authority over their wives. Holy Spirit led me on that one for sure.
That was so much fun and really made that day special. I love those super spiritual days when you can overwhelmingly feel Gods presence and power. I was so amazed about how God lined up two divine appointments for: Brinson and Nileen. It was definitely one of those fun “God Wink” stories.
Proverbs 16:9 :In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.
Reflection:
- Think about your life, all the trials, how has God reassured you, supported you or shown you love- through other people or divine appointments? ( He always seems to send someone or a sign to reassure or uplift)
2. What advice would Jesus have about your current situation or trial? What’s he saying to you today.
