Oaths

³³ “Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’ ³⁴ But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; ³⁵ or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. ³⁶ And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. ³⁷ All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

Oaths are taken very seriously in Heaven. Pledges are taken very seriously in Heaven. So that means when you make an oath with the Pledge of Allegiance, Honor Society, Girl Scouts, Free Masons Club, Lions Club, even as a Realtor, you must be very careful. Jesus said, it is better to simply say Yes or No and not make oaths or promises, especially do not link those vows to curses. He went so far as to say anything beyond a yes or no is from the devil. 

People have a problem with this one. They claim morals, ethics, good deeds, loyalty, patriotism. But God sees things on a different level, a spiritual level and if Jesus himself were standing here are you going to debate with him on whether you should lift your hand and say the pledge or make an oath for a social or charity club? If Jesus says don’t do it, why do you do it. My family has been known to stand but not to repeat these oaths and vows that certain organizations asks us to do. We do not make a big deal out of this, but I have reminded the kids let your yes be yes and no be no. 

Let me give you an example: 

In the the third degree of Free Masonry ceremony which includes a series of oaths linked to curses tied to the secrecies of the club, there is all kind of weirdness which should be a loud alarm to a true born again believer. I can’t imagine putting a rope around my neck and saying anything binding.  How about this? The candidate is hit on the forehead and falls on a stretcher. He is then, ” carried out and disposed of in the rubbish of the temple.” 

The obligation of a first degree Freemason (Entered Apprentice degree):

“Binding myself under no less a penalty than that of having my throat cut across, my tongue torn out by its roots, and buried in the rough sands of the sea at low-water mark, where the tide ebbs and flows twice in twenty four hours, should I ever knowingly or willingly violate this my solemn oath and obligation as an Entered Apprentice Mason. So help me God, and keep me steadfast in the due performance of the same.”

The obligation of a second degree Freemason (Fellowcraft degree):

“Binding myself under no less a penalty than that of having my left breast torn open, my heart plucked out, and given as a prey to the wild beasts of the field and the fowls of the air as a prey.”

The obligation of a third degree Freemason (Master Mason degree):

“Binding myself under no less a penalty than that of having my body severed in two, my bowels taken from thence and burned to ashes, the ashes scattered to the four winds of heaven, so that no more trace or remembrance may be had of so vile and perjured a wretch as I, should I ever knowingly or willingly violate this my solemn obligation as a Master Mason. So help me God, and keep me steadfast in the due performance of the same.”

Here are a few curses or oaths that have been listed and revealed by Free Masons that have repented and left the quote “Charitable club.” There are so many oaths, vows and rituals linked to the Vows of silence-mysteries of fraternity. If a member reveals, speaks of secrecy of club, the curses that come down on his family are so many!  With each level of the organization the vows and rituals get more strange.

• Curses on Physical, Emotional and Spiritual Abandonment
• Curses of all cancers connected to certain body parts. 
• Curses on body parts.
• Curses of unnecessary surgeries, “ripping open” 
• Masonic Curse: Premature death stroke and heart attack.
• Blood disorder oaths
• Oaths of Lodge perfectionism
• Oaths curses of ill fortune over finances ” to pluck with violence” Curse of Bankruptcy
• Curse of Dismemberment
• Curse over mind/brain- hypnosis- ” King Cobra” in ritual
• Oath to the “One Ring” – dominion under the “Grand Master”
• Ceremonial rituals of shock- oaths to 3rd degree, silver cord rituals

So next time any club, even under the guise of good or what appears to be good deeds asks you to say an oath, a promise or pledge, ask yourself are you willing to go against Jesus on this? Debate with him? 

He said if you do anything other than a yes or a no- it’s from the DEVIL, not from God. 

1. Think about any pledges or oaths over your life. Repent if you did more than a yes. 
2. If you are in any clubs that have weird rituals, oaths, consider repenting and getting out.
